Aemetis announced that its Universal Biofuels subsidiary has completed a two-year upgrade of the Kakinada biodiesel and glycerin plant in India. The supplier of polyolefin catalyst technology and polypropylene (PP) process technology Grace, has contracted to license its Unipol PP Process Technology to Hanwha Total Petrochemical for a new PP production facility in Daesan, South Korea. With a capacity of 400 kilotons per year, the PP line is expected to begin operations in 2021.

Chandra Asri Petrochemical has signed an agreement with Univation Technologies to use their Unipol PE Process for a new world scale 400 kta Polyethylene plant at its integrated Naphtha Cracker complex in Cilegon.

Under the agreement, Haldor Topsoe will provide license and engineering services for the new methanol unit. The plant is expected to have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes annually.
