Magnetic levitation moves ready-to-use components without mechanical contact during transport. The approach reduces friction and the associated risk of particle generation. At CPHI Milan, Ima will present the Tile-X solution for aseptic fill-finish applications with a decontamination tunnel.

At CPHI Milan, the Pharmaceutical and Med-Tech divisions of Ima Group will present selected technologies for pharmaceutical processing, aseptic fill-finish, isolator decontamination, and medical device assembly. The focus will be on the Tile-X line with Nebula, the VPHP Bioindicator, as well as the X Pen Lab for clinical trials and small-scale production.

Tile-X with Nebula for Aseptic Fill-Finish

Following its world premiere at Interpack 2026, Ima Life will present the Tile-X line at CPHI Milan for the first time in Italy. The system is designed for the aseptic processing of ready-to-use (RTU) components and is intended for applications involving high-value pharmaceutical products, including biopharmaceuticals and advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), with a focus on cell and gene therapies.

Tile-X uses magnetic levitation technology for the transport of components. The contactless handling concept reduces mechanical friction and the associated risk of particle generation. Nebula is a fast, integrated decontamination tunnel for RTUs.

VPHP Bioindicator

At the Isotech Lab – a corner devoted to the Isolator Research & Development Laboratory – Ima Life will present the VPHP Bioindicator. The biological indicator has been developed for the validation and monitoring of vaporized hydrogen peroxide (VPHP) bio-decontamination cycles in isolators.

The indicator is based on spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus ATCC 12980 and uses packaging that is permeable to VPHP. It is intended for use in cycle development, performance qualification, re-qualification, and ongoing contamination-control strategies.

X Pen Lab for Clinical Trials and Small-Scale Production

Ima Med-Tech will display the X Pen Lab, a semi-automatic system for the final assembly of pens and autoinjectors. The equipment is designed for clinical-trial applications, early-stage development, and small-scale production. The system performs press-fit operations with monitored force and distance measurement. Manual loading and unloading support the processing of different variants within one platform. The solution is part of the X Pen series, which is based on a linear magnetic transport system (LMTS).

Depending on the configuration, the X Pen platform can achieve production speeds between 40 and 160 ppm. Available options include vision inspection, handling of prefilled syringes without glass-to-glass contact, force- and distance-controlled assembly, priming, and labeling.

Technologies Across the Pharmaceutical Process Chain

Ima Pharma comprises several specialized divisions covering solid-dose processing (Ima Active), aseptic processing and freeze drying solutions (Ima Life), secondary packaging (Ima Safe), end-of-line systems (Ima BFB) and medical device assembly (Ima Med-Tech). Its portfolio includes equipment and complete lines for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and medical products. Alongside machinery, Ima also develops solutions for digitalisation, sustainability and service support. The technologies presented at CPHI Milan are intended to address selected process requirements ranging from component handling and isolator decontamination to the assembly of drug-delivery devices.
