PROCESS: What challenges do you see in India in terms of deploying automation and how do you contribute towards amelioration?

MANDAL: The challenge in India is to convince the end-customers on the complete value of automation as they tend to look at immediate returns. It is important for them to take visionary decisions to catch up with the developmental pace.

In today’s competitive space one needs to meet global standards while producing goods. Hence, in a synergetic perspective, we bring certain global practices, standards of automation, and knowledge to facilitate the Indian manufacturing organizations to meet those global standards.

PROCESS: How is the competition for Siemens in the Indian automation sector?

MANDAL: We love competition as it keeps us fit! It also provides a fair option to customers in the market to choose. We have been market leaders for decades and strongly believe that our presence will be sustained irrespective of ups and downs in the economy.
