Emerson has agreed to acquire UK-based Permasense, a provider of non-intrusive corrosion monitoring technologies for the offshore and onshore oil production, refining, chemical, power, pipelines, metals and mining and other industries.
The company has plans to carry out the production process at its Singaporean subsidiary, Mitsui Phenols Singapore. This move is expected to strengthen and further expand Mitsui Chemicals’ global supply.
The plant has already begun production and aims to generate granulated urea fertiliser as its main product. With this plant, the new ammonia-urea complex is expected to produce 1,200 tonnes of ammonia and 2,000 tonnes of urea per day.
Under the agreement, both the companies will work towards potential synergies in the production of lubricants and coolants. They will also jointly participate in four oil production fields in Abu Dhabi.
The addition of a third crude oil unit in the Beaumont refinery will increase its crude processing capacity by more than 65 per cent, and enhance the refinery’s position thereby establishing it as a leader in the U.S. refining industry.
The UCC Shchekinoazot plant is based on Haldor Topsoe’s integrated methanol and ammonia production methanol+ process. The plant comprises a production capacity of 450,000 tonnes of methanol and 135,000 tonnes of ammonia per year.
