With an expected processing capacity of about 55,000 tons of mixed plastic waste annually, the new chemical recycling facility will be the first industrial chemical recycling site at the North Sea Port in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. The plant will be developed under a joint venture by Neste and Ravago and will be based on Alterra Energy’s thermochemical liquefaction technology. With this project, the companies aim to demonstrate and advance the commercialization of chemical recycling.

Air Products has plans to establish a 4.5-billion-dollar energy complex in Louisiana, USA which is expected to produce over 750 MMSCFD of blue hydrogen. The mega project is the company’s largest-ever investment in the U.S. and will also feature the world’s largest instance of CO2 capture for permanent sequestration.

Orlen Unipetrol has plans to expand its existing Litvínov steam cracker, located at the company’s production plant in Záluží, Czech Republic, by adding an 11th furnace to the project. With an investment of more than 32 million dollars, the construction of the new furnace will be based on Technip Energies’ proprietary SMK coil technology and will be commissioned in 2022.

Biofuels producer, Renewable Energy Group, joined Iowa State University (ISU) at the Bio Century Research Farm (BCRF) for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the start of a new hydrotreater pilot plant.
