The guide was developed in 2011 under the leadership of the Industrial Practices Interest Group (IGR) and the cooperation of chair representatives as well as representatives of industrial companies with the support of the VCI.
In May 2014, it was revised and updated, particularly in the area of normative referrals.
The most recent update from March 2016 includes correctives/updates to attachments A and C: In Appendix A correction in the table, 2nd column: PN10+PN25 changed to PN10-PN25. Ad supplemented in Appendix C note on QSmax value investigation.
With the application of this document, the requirements of the VDI 2290 in terms of the management system and the leakage classes to be adhered to are met. In addition to the presentation of normative references and terms, technical and organisational requirements are presented and in particular the assembly process is described in detail. The associated annexes include a short instruction for the assembly staff (Annex A), documentation for the examination of flange connections (Annex B) and calculation bases for the identified suit moments (Annex C).
