The Two Implemented Actions Include:

  • An underground tank of 12 KL capacity has been constructed near the factory main building. Roof top rainwater from the building is fed to this tank through PVC pipes and then linked by a common pipe, which, in turn, is diverted to the tank
  • Rainwater thus collected, is being used for gardening, toilets and the cooling tower

Rain water harvesting is regaining its importance as Government of India is making special efforts to promote the same, supported by NGOs who are trying their best to create awareness in the society about the significance of Rain Water Harvesting (RWH), and thereupon, manage wastewater. Considering the present circumstances, India might face a severe water crisis within the next two decades, unless water management practices are changed or improved on a priority basis.
