London/UK – Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe has recently launched Ineos Lowin CO₂, a new range of low carbon olefins and polymers offering a carbon footprint up to half of the European industry average. This carbon footprint will reduce further when Ineos’ 5-billion-euro Project One ethane cracker comes online. The range of low-carbon products helps customers to cut their Scope 3 emissions and accelerate progress toward their sustainability goals. Built on Ineos’ low-carbon olefins production, the low-carbon certification applies to the company’s full range of olefins and polymers produced across its European network.

By using these materials, customers can substantially reduce the carbon footprint of end products across a broad range of downstream sectors. Lowin CO₂ olefins and polyolefins from Ineos are suitable for a wide range of essential applications, including lightweight transport components, water and gas distribution pipes, medical and healthcare products, consumer technology and electronics, food and beverage packaging, and construction materials. These applications require high-performance materials with proven durability, safety and reliability, while increasingly demanding lower-carbon solutions across their value chains.

Ineos will lower the footprint even further when Project One - Europe’s most sustainable cracker - starts up in Antwerp, setting new benchmarks for efficiency and environmental performance.

“Ineos Lowin CO₂ sets a new standard for low-carbon solutions, serving the unique needs of European brands and customers who face some of the world’s most demanding environmental requirements,” said Liz Rittweger, CEO of Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe. “It gives customers the tools to meet those requirements, reduce their carbon footprint and develop more sustainable products.”

Ineos Lowin CO₂ complements Ineos O&P Europe’s broader sustainability portfolio, including the Recycl In hybrid polymer range, which contain high levels of mechanically recycled plastic, advanced recycling capabilities, bio-attributed offer and multilayer MDO film technology that supports recyclable mono-material packaging.
