Pharmaceutical Forum in China The 9th VPEIF Unites Pharmaceutical Industries and Celebrates Major Success

China’s pharmaceutical industry wants to increase its GMP and production expertise drastically. This is also reflected by the record number of participants at the 9^th Vogel Pharmaceutical Engineering International Forum (VPEIF) organized by PROCESS PharmaTEC China. More than 570 participants met in mid-June during the expert meeting at the industrial city of Changzhou.

Beijing/PR China — Chinas pharmaceutical industry is booming. With a targeted annual growth of up to 20 %, China might increase its level of self-sufficiency in essential pharmaceuticals considerably. The goal of the 12^th Five-year plan: the twenty major companies are expected to conquer at least 80 % in the market share of essential pharmaceuticals.

Consolidation is also an important aspect dominating the remaining pharmaceutical market sectors. The one hundred major manufacturers are required to target a market share of more than 50 % and the producing companies will have to meet 100 % of the increased GMP standards. To reach the last goal in particular, the Vogel Pharmaceutical Engineering International Forum (VPEIF) organised by PROCESS China and PharmaTEC China takes place on an annual basis.

This year, more than 570 pharmaceutical experts from the Chinese industrial city of Changzhou met to discuss framework conditions and new technologies. For the ninth time, the Vogel Pharmaceutical Engineering International Forum (VPEIF) of China could bring together pharmaceutical experts. In addition to the high number of participants, 8,900 interested members followed the event via the livestream on the Internet. The forum was attended by two representatives of China's Food and Drug Administration (CFDA). Sponsors — 36 suppliers of the pharmaceutical industries — were also satisfied with this important event.

More than one third of the exhibitors said that they plan to attend the event in 2018 again. In addition to the VPEIF flagship event, PROCESS PharmaTEC China also organises a Vogel Pharmaceutical Training Seminar (VPTS) on various recurring occasions. Recently, in South Chinese Zhuhai, more than 80 participants met for an intensive training seminar. A livestream of the seminar was used by many interested experts: About 3,500 pharmaceutical experts followed the event on their computer or mobile device.

Event and PharmaTEC project manager Jenny Yang Qiong is happy with the large participant turnout: “No doubt, our VPEIF event, has become a fixed date in the calendar of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry. The community functions in an excellent manner.” The 10^th VPEIF is to take place in September 2018. The location and precise date will be communicated.
