Switzerland: Appointment Pierre-Alain Ruffieux is Lonza’s New Chief Executive Officer
Pierre-Alain Ruffieux will be joining Lonza from November 1, 2020. Currently, he is the Head of Global Pharma Technical Operations at Roche. Until Pierre-Alain joins the firm, Albert Baehny, Chairman of the Board will be holding the CEO position for a temporary period.
Basel/Switzerland – The Board of Lonza has recently announced that Pierre-Alain Ruffieux has been appointed Chief Executive Officer effective November 1, 2020. Pierre-Alain is currently Head of Global Pharma Technical Operations at Roche where he and his 12,000-strong team are responsible for all aspects of pharmaceutical commercial manufacturing and supply chain operations, technical, quality assurance and regulatory. Prior to that he held roles of increasing seniority at Novartis and has over 20 years’ experience in biopharmaceuticals.
