The fourth and final step is carried out by the VRK capping machine which creates tight, complete seals using Bosch’s unique overall capping method. Each container is compressed and a rotary crimping role is moved in against the cap, providing highest quality crimp with lowest particle generation. Across the system, parameters for different processes can be stored and recalled at the push of a button for reproducible cycle times and easy operation that minimises operator error. Format change is likewise simplified by eliminating the need for tools and easy accessibility across the line.

The Biggest Bosch Packaging Plant in Asia

Bosch Packaging Technology (Hangzhou), in January 2002, produced the first GKF 700 capsule filling machine for the pharmaceutical industry. From that point on, the company continuously expanded its production capabilities, leading to the production of liquid filling lines for sterile applications in Hangzhou in 2007, and a further expansion step in 2010. Today, the Hangzhou facility is the biggest Bosch Packaging plant in Asia. In 2011, another 5,000 square metres were added to the shop floor and further expansions in China are in the planning phase.

Long-term Solution to Urgent Need of Asia's Pharmaceutical Branch

Despite unprecedented time constraints, NCPC was able to put the equipment in its new plant timely. Bosch delivered on its ambitious promises, channelling all available resources into a highly-focused project and uniting expertise and manpower from different sites and countries. The result of this ambitious project is an innovative, robust and long-term solution to an urgent requirement. And the transnational cooperation does not stop here: NCPC has already placed an order with Bosch for two further packaging lines.
