PROCESS: What solution does Danfoss offer to this problem of transportation?

PURUSHOTHAMAN: We see an opportunity in every commodity. However at the same time we have also realized that every commodity has to be treated differently. Hence, we offer customized solutions depending on the commodity to be transported and also needs of the consumer.

“The Future of F&B Industry Looks Promising...”

PROCESS: What do you think is the future of the F&B industry in India?

PURUSHOTHAMAN: Its future looks very promising. Currently we see a very fragmented picture when we look at the industry. We see big as well as small players here. As the industry grows, we would see more number of large players in the market. Either the small companies will grow or will tie up with the large players. Also, I think a number of new companies will enter India to take advantage of its growing market.

PROCESS: What are your expansion plans for the year 2013?

PURUSHOTHAMAN: We are building a new R&D center in India for development of new products for the domestic as well as global market. As far as sales growth is concerned, we have clearly identified the areas where strong growth can be registered.

However, overall, this year is expected to witness a moderate growth, mainly due to the current slow economic conditions. Additionally, we will also be launching number of commercial compressors in the Indian market soon to cater to the needs of the F&B industry.
