Today’s modern water and wastewater treatment plants are employing advanced technologies, reverse osmosis for instance, to provide clean potable water across India. These technologies call for accurate information and precise flow control throughout the plant, which is difficult to achieve by manual operation. This has resulted in the increased use of electric actuators to operate valves installed throughout the plant, right from intake stage to the pumping station for distribution.

Under a partnership between KBR and Exxonmobil Catalysts and Licensing, both the companies will work together towards significant advancements to the propane dehydrogenation technology. Exxonmobil's new proprietary catalyst technology when combined with KBR's proprietary K-Pro Propane Dehydrogenation technology is able to convert propane into propylene leading to low energy consumption and cost savings.

The Pyrochem Project aims to process 1 million tons of waste plastic into feedstock for the chemical industry from 2030 onwards. With this project, the project partners intend to reduce 1.7 million tons of CO2-eq annually and save 550 kilotons of petroleum.

China’s pharmaceutical industry wants to increase its GMP and production expertise drastically. A huge fire erupted at Saudi Aramco’s oil depot in Jeddah on Friday due to an attack by Houthis rebels from Yemen. The fire was dozed off and no casualties were reported.

Teaming up for China: Together, BASF, Huntsman, Shanghai Hua Yi Group, Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical and Sinopec kicked off the construction of a new 240,000 tons MDI plant at Caojing, China. The facilities will complement existing lines of Shanghai Lianheng Isocyanate at the site, giving it a total 480,000 tons per year capacity.
