Sasol and Topsoe have entered into a single license agreement for Arcadia’s Vordingborg efuels plant. The first commercial efuels plant in Denmark is expected to produce approx. 100 million litres per year of efuels.

Johnson Matthey and Doosan Enerbility have plans to jointly develop integrated solutions for hydrogen-fuelled power plants in South Korea. For this, both the parties are working together to develop a technology that allows the use of low carbon ammonia as a hydrogen source. JM’s ammonia cracking technology and catalyst will be used for the project.

The German research institute Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung has been selected for the international project – Ambh2er which aims to deliver a greener synthesis of ammonia. With 16 partners from science and industry, the project is scheduled to run for four years and intends to contribute towards the European Green Deal.

Ethylene from ethane, obtained through steam cracking, is the latest boom sector in China's petrochemical industry. Construction of no less than three new large-scale plants was completed just before the start of the New Year, PROCESS (China) reports. While the vast majority of ethylene in China is still produced in petroleum refineries from naphtha, a number of investors are now turning to cheap ethane, mainly from shale gas deposits in the US.

Emerson’s BM6X Series Slam-Shut valve has now been certified for use in hydrogen applications by Bureau Veritas Italia. This means that the valve can be used for gas transmission networks, regulating stations, and end use infrastructure.
