The Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI) has welcomed the European Commission’s ‘Communication on Sustainable Carbon Cycles’ which focusses on the necessary measures for achieving climate neutrality in 2050. RCI has even called for implementation of its important measures.

With the rise in demand for polyalphaolefins (PAO) across the globe, Chevron Phillips Chemical has plans to expand its production capacity by establishing a new plant in Belgium. On completion, the project is expected to double the company’s PAO production capacity to 120,000 MT in the country.

Under a letter of Intent signed between both the parties, BASF will supply Neopentyl Glycol from its Zhanjiang Verbund site in China to KHUA which has plans to develop a 100 kilotons per annum production plant for high-end powder coatings resins in Donghai Island.

With an aim to expand its downstream presence in China, Aramco has acquired a 10 % stake in Rongsheng Petrochemical Co. Under a long-term sales agreement, Aramco will supply 480,000 barrels per day of Arabian crude oil to Rongsheng affiliate Zhejiang Petroleum and Chemical Co. and Aramco Overseas Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aramco, will acquire the interest in Rongsheng.

BP Trinidad and Tobago has successfully begun gas production at its Cassia C platform which is expected to produce about 200-300 million standard cubic feet of gas daily. The project will enable the firm to produce low pressure gas resources from the Greater Cassia Area.

Cummins has plans to develop the manufacturing facility in Fridley, Minnesota to produce electrolyzers in order to support the country’s green hydrogen economy. Initially, the plant will have a manufacturing capacity of 500 MW every year which can later on be scalable to 1 GW.
