Under ‘Project Greensand’ a consortium led by Ineos has proved that the CCS technology is feasible after successfully capturing CO2 from Belgium and then storing it into a depleted oil field in the Danish North Sea. Project Greensand aims to store up to 8 million tonnes of CO2 annually in the area by 2030.

Borealis has closed the acquisition deal of Rialti, an Italy-based company specialized in the production of sustainable polypropylene compounds with a focus on mechanically recycled PP feedstock from post-industrial and post-consumer waste. With this, Borealis aims to expand its PP compounding business and increase its volume of PP compounds based on mechanical recyclates.

HIF Global will develop the e-fuels plant in Matagorda County in Texas, USA and the project is expected to produce 200 million gallons of carbon-neutral gasoline annually. Construction of the plant will begin by 2023 and first production is scheduled for 2026.
