The combination of propane dehydrogenation technology with CO2 utilization technology has the potential to increase economic activity and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Sumitomo Chemical has plans to explore this combination at its petrochemical complex in Singapore.

Schlumberger New Energy, CEA and Partners have recently announced that the European Commission has approved the formation of Genvia, a clean hydrogen production technology venture. The venture will focus on the development and industrial deployment of an innovative electrolyzer technology for clean hydrogen production.

Rosneft and BP have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to support carbon management and sustainability activities of both firms. The companies will also work together to identify and develop new low carbon solutions to achieve their shared sustainability goals.

SGL Carbon has delivered a steam generation hydrochloric acid synthesis unit to Travancore-Cochin Chemicals in India. The new unit enables the South-India based company to save costs as well as reduce CO2 emissions by more than 1.500 tons per year.

Under a cooperation agreement signed between Total and Engie, both the companies will work together to develop and build the Masshylia project, France's largest renewable hydrogen production site, for producing green hydrogen from 100 % renewable electricity.

Linde has plans to build, own and operate a 24-megawatt electrolyzer facility at the Leuna Chemical Complex in Germany. The mega plant will produce green hydrogen and supply it to its industrial customers.

Celanese Singapore has extended its long-term contract with Linde Gas Singapore for the supply of carbon monoxide to its acetyls chemical unit based in Singapore. The new extended contract will enable the facility to gain access to a strategically advantaged supply of carbon monoxide.

Exxon Mobil’s new business – Exxon Mobil Low Carbon Solutions will initially focus on CCS in order to achieve the Paris Agreement climate goals. The newly created segment is already advancing plans for over 20 new CCS opportunities to assist large-scale emission reductions.
