Daikin and Hitachi will start a joint demonstration to digitalize quality control know-how in the reaction process of chemical manufacturing, especially in fluorochemicals, at Daikin Yodogawa Plant (Settsu, Osaka Prefecture).

The new pipeline will be used to transport molten sulphur produced by the firm’s Shah sour gas field. The project will also prove beneficial for future expansion of sulphur production and is expected to be commissioned in 2019.

Novozymeswill deliver enzymes for the Dong Energy's Renescience plant in Northwich in the North West of England. It will be the first full-scale bio plant in the world capable of handling household waste by means of enzymes.

Arkema Malaysia Thiochemicals and the Monash University Malaysia (MUM) in Kuala Lumpur have signed a research partnership over 3 years of collaboration during which time researchers will be able to make their resources available to the local teams of the company. The goal: to develop more efficient biocatalysts for the company's Thiochemicals business.

Once complete, the deal will enable Air Products to increase its gasification business footprint across the globe. The company is also expected to develop its synthesis gas solutions via GE’s gasification technology.

Linde and DCRC are expected to invest more than 100 million dollars for the construction of the new plant along with supporting infrastructure for the project. On completion, the new plant will have a capacity of processing 25 million standard cubic feet per day.

Fuel additives such as isooctane have so far been produced from mineral oil. Commissioned by the French-German company Global Bioenergies, the Fraunhofer Center for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes CBP in Leuna will soon be producing biobased additives for gasoline. The source is bio-isobutene, which is obtained biotechnically from sugar.
