Thyssen Krupp Industrial Solutions, the plant engineering and construction specialist of the Thyssen Krupp Group, has celebrated its 25th Anniversary in Thailand and announces further investments to strengthen its position as one of the leading plant engineering companies in the region.

The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) welcomed Sartorius as its new shareholder and together the companies plan to extend their partnership to develop future-focused tools and AI applications for the production of advanced medications.

The five modular polymer injection plants have been successfully designed, supplied, installed and commissioned at a major oilfield in Argentina. The plants are expected to minimise mechanical degradation of polymers and will also help increase oil recovery rates.

With the mega investment, Akzo Nobel will increase its powder coatings capacity at its Como site in Italy. The move is in line with the company’s goals of focusing on greener production as well as strengthening its position in the market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sealed Air and Plastic Energy will aim to develop new technology advancements to enhance the circularity of plastics. With this deal, Sealed Air intends to eliminate plastic waste and assist its customers to include recycled plastics into their packaging.

Oxone monopersulfate is a core active ingredient for disinfectants and Lanxess aims to increase its production capacity by around 50 %. For this purpose, the firm will invest a lower double-digit million euro amount in its Memphis production unit in the USA. The move is in line with the growing demand for disinfectants in the background of the African swine fever and Covid-19.

Post the acquisition, Optimus Holding will invest more than 273 million dollars in the next few years for the development of microbial-derived immunotherapeutics against respiratory diseases and inflammation, and other projects. The takeover is also expected to strengthen the company’s biotech cluster in Switzerland.

Royal DSM has completed the acquisition of the Erber Group for 1,149 million dollars. The deal includes the Group’s Biomin as well as Romer Labs business. The Biomin business is expected to further strengthen DSM’s expertise in animal health and nutrition solutions whereas Romer Labs complements DSM’s human nutrition and health offering to customers in the food & beverages industry.

Total’s Grandpuits refinery in France will be converted into a zero-crude platform for the production of biofuels and bioplastic. The platform will comprise of three new industrial units: a bio-refinery, a bioplastics plant and a plastics recycling unit.
