Saudi Aramco placed a tender for building of a gas processing plant at Uthmaniyah (etsimated project costs around US $ 500 million). The Uthmaniyah-project shall produce Gas Liquids like ethane, propane and butane from natural gas.
Linde has plans to build, own and operate a 24-megawatt electrolyzer facility at the Leuna Chemical Complex in Germany. The mega plant will produce green hydrogen and supply it to its industrial customers.
Solvay’s Melle plant in France has started decarbonizing its cyclopentanone production by converting waste biomass into 18 GWh of renewable natural gas. The cyclopentanone unit operates on biomethane gas and aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26 % by 2030.

Lanxess has completed the sale of its membrane business to Suez. On January 1, 2021 the company’s production plant as well as the research facilities in Bitterfeld, Germany were transferred to Suez.
The Louisiana-based integrated polyethylene joint venture transaction has been successfully completed by Lyondell Basell and Sasol. Under the terms of the agreement, Lyondell Basell will operate the assets owned by the JV and also market the polyethylene products on behalf of the JV.
The R cluster is an ultra-deep-water gas field in block KG D6 off the east coast of India and is the first of three projects to come onstream. Together the three projects are expected to meet ~15 % of India’s gas demand and will account for ~25 % of the country’s domestic production.
Under a strategic partnership signed between Royal DSM and Neste, DSM will help Neste to create high-performance sustainable polymers in order to reduce the carbon footprints of its own products and also support the circular economy transition.
