Celanese has acquired a polyacetal (POM) technology from Grupa Azoty after the Polish company decided to discontinue its POM manufacturing. The global firm will also take over all the existing contracts of the company in order to cater to Grupa Azoty’s customers.

The 12-million-dollar European project – ‘Desolination’ comprises of 19 partners and 12 countries and intends to develop a first- of-a-kind efficient coupling of concentrated solar power and desalination techniques. The project will test and deploy its technology in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and will also build its first prototype in Saudi Arabia.

MOL and Tatneft have plans to build a rubber bitumen plant in Tatarstan, Russia. The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade will be partly financing this project. The new facility is expected to have a production capacity of about 20,000 tpa.
