Sanofi has inaugurated its new Evolutive Vaccine Facility (EVF) which has the potential to produce up to four vaccines simultaneously. Switching from manufacturing one vaccine to another is also possible in a matter of just 12 days with the new vaccine facility.

Under a joint feasibility study, Total Energies and Eneos will explore the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the Eneos Negishi Refinery in Japan. The facility is expected to have a production capacity of 300,000 tons annually.

The ‘3D’ carbon capture pilot plant is the brainchild of a consortium including Totalenergies, Arcelor Mittal, Axens and IFP Energies Nouvelles. The plant has started up at Arcelor Mittal’s Dunkirk site in France and will capture 0.5 tons of CO2 an hour. The project is an important step in decarbonizing the steelmaking industry.

Dow has acquired a minority stake in the Hanseatic Energy Hub consortium which has plans to build, own and operate a zero-carbon emission import terminal for liquified gases in Stade, Germany. Dow is contributing land for the project which is expected to offer a regasification capacity of 13.3 billion cubic metres of natural gas annually.

Amidst Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine which has disrupted world markets and economies, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has revealed that the global demand for natural gas will slightly decline this year. The agency further adds that natural gas consumption is expected to fall by close to 6 % in Europe while in Asia, it is expected to grow by 3 % in 2022.
