The consortium which includes seven companies Itochu Corporation, Nippon Steel Corporation, Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Itochu Oil Exploration Co., Inpex Corporation, and Taisei Corporation will conduct the joint study under the Tohoku Region West Coast CCS initiative.
