Sasol has been granted licenses in two on- and offshore fields in Mozambique, which the company will devlop in a partnership with the country’s state oil company Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH).

Johannesburg, South Africa – Two of three applications by Sasol for Mozambique’s 5th Licensing Bid Round were successful: Sasol (70 % interest, operator) and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH), the state oil company (30 % carried interest), were awarded the onshore Area PT5-C, a 3,012 square kilometers lot adjacent to the Pande and Temane fields.

Sasol’s began working in Mozambique over a decade ago, when the Pande/Temane natural gas project was developed, in partnership with Companhia Mocambicana de Hidrocarbonetos and the International Finance Corporation.
