A Training Facility that Could Set the Standard for the Process Industry

This is reported to have been specifically designed to provide training and assessment in line with actual hands on live operations including shift rotation, permit to work with task risk assessments, start up and shutdown exercises, emergency response and fire drill exercises. Petrofac also reports that there is no loss time injury since then, mainly aided by such training.

An Indian example is Transport Training & Development Institute at Autonagar, Hyderabad. It is heartening to note that many big companies such as Reliance, Tata group, DuPont, etc., have good behavior-based training systems for safety & sustainability and no doubt more of such centers in the line of Petrofac Singapore will be operational in future with institutes like Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE), Indian Chemical Council (ICC), etc., taking initiative for industry/academia partnerships.
