Global Polyamide Market Global Polyamide Market Overcomes Crisis Low Driven by Chinese Economy
A new Yellowbook by PCI Nylon attests the global polyamide market a positive trend. Most of this development is, however, driven by the Chinese economical growth.
Bad Hombug/Germany – German speciality market researchers PCI Nylon just issued the latest release of its "Yellowbook" World PA6 & PA66 Supply/Demand Report 2011. PCI analysts gathered comprehensive current data on the global PA6 and PA6.6 market, broken down by product classes and countries worldwide. The "Yellowbook" survey the entire polyamide production chain, including the requisite raw materials and intermediates, production plant capacities and end-uses – segmented into six fields of application: textile filaments, industrial filaments, carpet filaments, staple fibers, engineering plastics for the production of diverse components, and films.
Currently the annual global consumption of PA6 and PA6.6, the most common forms of polyamides, is about 6.8 million tonnes. The market-break experienced in the recession years of 2008 and 2009 seems to be overcome. Most notably is , nevertheless, a drastic market shift during this time: most of the growing demand for polyamides is needed to cater the increasing demand of China's emerging economy. China already consumes around 30% of the global polyamide production (38% of PA6 and 15% of PA66, respectively). Although the increasing need for polyamides turns out profitable for PA manufacturers and producers, the economic success now depends heavily on the economic development of one single nation or region. Nevertheless, PCI expects the global polyamide market to grow by 2.4 percent annually till 2020.
