Natural Rubber is a proven wear protection and anti-corrosion material. So far it could only be applied by vulcanizing. Rapid in-situ lining is generally not possible. When repairs need to be carried out, quite often epoxy-ceramic products are used due to the ease of application. However, replacing rubber by plastic filling compounds is a questionable approach and not generally to be recommended. Metaline Series 700 is a special processing and material system doing away with this disadvantage. It is a cartridge spraying system allowing for the first time to spray on seamless wear protection coatings on site without the help of special machines.

The system combines the known quality features of wear-resistant elastomeric coatings with a simple and cost-effective cartridge spray processing for self-application. Thus it is now possible to professionally apply sprayable wear protective coatings on elastomeric basis – directly on site and without previous disassembly. The product is based on a special PUR-Elastomeric technology that does not require vulcanization. Considerable time and logistics advantages in contrast to the methods used so far can be realized.

With the help of the Metaline cartridge spraying gun, the 2-component coating will be mixed automatically and sprayed on or poured in well dosed. The mixing process is done in a plastic one-way mixer functioning simultaneously as an atomising nozzle. The spraying gun does not come into contact with the coating material, hence no cleaning of the appliances is necessary after completing the work. Processing is similar to wet paint processing but without the use of solvents. Thermal treatment of components is also not necessary. Processing can be carried out under various climatic conditions – even in extremely moist air – directly on site or underground. Only compressed air with 5 bar and volumes of approximately 300 liters is necessary.

The system known under the brand name Metaline Series 700 is already dry to the touch after approximately 5 minutes but depending on requirements, may only be stressed at the earliest after 12 hours. Sheet thicknesses varying from 1 mm up to several centimeters can be processed in one working cycle. The solidified and highly elastic film shows enormous resisting forces for which polyurethane is known and is able to build up extreme and type-dependent non-stick features. Three different hardnesses (60, 85 and 95 Shore A) in different colors are available. The materials are non-toxic during processing and pose no health hazard whatsoever

The coating adheres to almost all surfaces, including steel, stainless steel, concrete, rubber, polyurethane or plastics. The base must be clean and dry. Pre-treatment by sandblasting is urgently recommended, however, not absolutely necessary!

The area of application is extreme wear protection against impact, erosion, corrosion and cavitation. The seamless film characteristics enable unprecedented corrosion protection problem solutions for highly stressed components even under permanent submersion conditions.

Especially in connection with pumps, mixers, floatation systems, vibratory chutes, screening machines, conveying belts or with repairs of OTR tyres the system has proved its efficiency.
