Tailormade for Engineers and Process Engineering Experts

The Inosim simulation software aims at engineers and other experts in process engineering. Its usability has been tailor-made for this target group: A graphical user interface is applied to assemble a virtual processing plant by a layout (via Drag&Drop of single elements).

For this purpose, a library of equipment common in process engineering is provided. Production recipes describe the processes within the virtually applied units (batch, continuous, mixed forms). Even here, the users can choose from a model library of predefined recipe modules, customize them or create their own recipe modules.

The recipe modules thereby contain mass and energy balances for the description of each process step. For the most of these steps, several black box and shortcut models are at hand. Due to the current data situation and intended purpose, the users can determine which model is selected.

Once the virtual production is configured, the simulation is started. After each simulation run, the users receive a multitude of graphical and tabular evaluation which make unit allocations and production processes transparent, providing data on the required processing times and unit dimensions of the applied simulation model. The results cover mass and energy balances, e.g. information on the composition of tanks, levels, and material flow at each time of the process.

Furthermore, the Inosim software generates data on the level and time of energy consumption, such as heating steam, cooling water, or power.
