Success Factor: Easy Software Handling
The software generally offers maximum ease of handling. Users can for example create their individual tree structure in the B.Data Explorer. With the current project, main node points which provide different views of the system structure via an authorization concept were effectively generated for two of the four companies domiciled on the site. Individual production areas or systems can be arranged under these views. Moreover, image files can be assigned to the measuring nodes in order to provide maximum transparency in terms of visualization.
The entire software is designed in a way which allows for the systems’ very flexible layout, which represented an important decision factor to the InfraTec experts. “We have also made different experience in the past”, states Nahogyil. The software’s ease of handling is an important success factor, particularly in practical application.
For example, new data points can be rapidly created in the software. For this purpose, the user simply specifies the desired name under “Create new data point”. Next, he fills in all required basic data in a mask and enters the address assigned to the respective measuring point from PCS 7. In the new B.Data version 5.3, the address no longer has to be entered manually, but can be simply selected from the control system’s archive via a wizard. “This emphasizes the comfortable handling of this software. In order to ensure the software’s constant up-to-dateness, we also opted for a Software Update Service agreement which automatically always provides us with the latest version”, Nahogyil continues.
24/7 Access Around the Globe Via Web Module
Furthermore, the new current features a so-called “dashboard function” which for instance allows for a traffic light representation (red, yellow green) to ease the detection of deviations in the energy consumption behavior. Moreover, these deviations can be forwarded to defined persons as message via e-mail. “These options are unbelievably valuable for a site supplier”, assures Oehlandt.
To ensure that all authorized persons have access to the energy data, the decision-makers at InfraTec additionally opted for the energy management software’s web module. With this module, users are able to access the information released for them via a standard browser throughout all sites of the corporate group. Oehlandt confirms: “This is extremely handy and also reassures our customers in knowing that they can rely on us as service provider at all times.” After all, energy management is not bound to fixed working hours, but is continuously in operation.
