Sales Company Weidmüller Founds Sales Company in Hong Kong

Weidmüller founds a sales company in Hong Kong to expand its distribution network in Asia. The employees of the subsidiary have started their work already at the beginning of 2012.

Detmold, Hongkong – The commitment in China is a tradition for Weidmüller – since 1994 there have been business relationships between the expert of power, signal and data and the Asia-Pacific market. Now, the company has established a sales company with Weidmüller (Hong Kong) Limited that will work more closely with companies in Taiwan.

"The strength of sales by companies located in the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong's autonomous trade policy and also the huge distances in the Asia-Pacific region were further reasons, to develop another location alongside our sales company located in Shanghai," explains Volpert Briel, Weidmüller's Chief Marketing and Sales Officer.

Weidmüller expanded its business relations in Asia over several years. Initially as part of a joint venture, from 2003 with a production and development department. "With the founding of our 'Academy Asia', a centre for knowledge transfer and network building, last autumn, we have set a further milestone in the development of a sustainable, world-wide development, production and sales network," says the CEO, Dr. Peter Köhler.
