Caustic Soda Uhde Selected for Caustic Soda Project of KPR in India

KPR Industries of India has awarded a local Uhde subsidiary to build an all-new 200 tons per day Caustic Soda-Chlorine plant at Balabhadrapuram in Andhra Pradesh.

Mumbai/India – Uhde India will provide Basic & Detailed Engineering, Project Management Services, Technical Procurement, Supply of Imported Cell elements, Supervision Services during Civil & Erection and Assistance during Commissioning and Guarantee Test Runs for the facility. Caustic Soda, produced at the site, shall be marketed by KPR, while the Chlorine is proposed to be either sold in the market or used to make Chlorine derivatives, speakers explained.

The project will use Generation V Thyssen Krupp Uhde Caustic Soda Membrane Cell elements that provide a energy consumption, longevity and sensible environmental performance, the company stated. Uhde India already has a 75% share in the domestic membrane cell market, and are amongst the only Indian EPC Companies for Caustic Soda-Chlorine plants, offering a comprehensive solution including Technology, Engineering, proprietary supplies, implementation and commissioning for caustic soda projects.
