New Epichlorohydrin Plant Technip to Plan Construction of a New Solvay Epichlorohydrin Plant in China

French plant manufacturer Technip was selected to plan the Construction of a new Chemical Plant for Solvay in China.

Paris/France – Technip will study the construction of Solvay's new greenfield epichlorohydrin production in China, executed by Technip local operating center in Shanghai. The new facility, based on Solvay's Epicerol technology shall produce 100 kilo-tons per year of epichlorohydrin, an organochlorine compound and epoxide which is used in the production of polymers, glues and resins. Construction works are expected to be finished by the second half on 2013.

Solvay and Technip already share a long history in collaborating on plant construction and revisioning. According to Technip officials, the company expects this project to strengthen this relationship.
