| Editor: Dominik Stephan

Technip will supply India's Reliance Industries (RIL) with a technology license, basic engineering and EPC works for a planned ethylene Refinery Off-Gas Cracker (ROGC) in India. The plant is part of the expansion project for RIL’s world-scale Jamnagar refining and petrochemical complex in Gujarat.

“Technip is one of the largest experienced contractor on licensing, designing and implementing grassroots mega-crackers for ethylene production. This contract reinforces our position as a major player in this field. We are delighted to work with RIL to deliver this world-scale project,” stated Nello Uccelletti, Senior Vice President of Technip Onshore Business.

The ROGC plant will be among the largest ethylene crackers in the world and will be integrated to RIL’s Jamnagar refinery complex, using refinery off-gas as feedstock. The products from that plant will be utilized as feedstock for the new downstream petrochemical plants, company speakers explained. The cracking process will be based on Technip's SMK furnaces technology, one of the major cornerstones of the Technip's ethylene know-how.
