Paris/France – Technip Energies has been awarded a substantial Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract in consortium with Target Engineering by Abu Dhabi Polymers (Borouge), a joint-venture between Adnoc and Borealis, for the construction of a new Ethane Cracker Unit, to be integrated in the Borouge 4 petrochemical complex in Ruwais, UAE.

Challenges for EPC Contractors

With an influx of largescale petrochemical construction projects, EPC Contractors will have to be confronted with challenges such as finding enough capacity and quality of construction manpower, delayed permits etc. which require an EPC strategy to stay competitive in this ever-growing market.

The contract was signed by H.E Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and Group CEO of Adnoc and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Polymers (Borouge); and Technip Energies CEO Arnaud Pieton; in presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron during the French delegation’s visit to the UAE.
