Miami based investment firm H.I.G. Capital goes on shopping spree in Germany: the private equity investors recently acquired hydrocarbons specialist Halterman Products from Dow.

SGL Carbon has announced the acquisition of shares from the Japanese graphite and carbon specialist Tokai Carbon in the SGL Tokai Process Technology (STPT) joint venture operating on the Asian market.

The ‘3D’ carbon capture pilot plant is the brainchild of a consortium including Totalenergies, Arcelor Mittal, Axens and IFP Energies Nouvelles. The plant has started up at Arcelor Mittal’s Dunkirk site in France and will capture 0.5 tons of CO2 an hour. The project is an important step in decarbonizing the steelmaking industry.

Dayuewan (Zhuhai) Petrochemical Co. will utilise a range of technologies from Honeywell for upgrading heavy fuel oil into higher value petrochemical products at its Guangdong complex in China. Honeywell is also responsible for basic engineering, technology licensing as well technical and start-up services for Dayuewan’s project.
