Ineos Oxide has purchased Lyondell Basell’s Ethylene Oxide & Derivatives business and associated production facilities located in Bayport, Texas. With this move, Ineos Oxide has expanded its business into the USA.

Under a joint venture agreement between Denka and Mitsubishi Corporation, Denka will acquire from Mitsubishi a 50 % stake in Frontier Carbon Corporation, a company dedicated to the manufacturing and sales of fullerenes.

Christoph Kowitz who currently heads Wacker’s Corporate Research Department has been appointed as the President and CEO of Wacker Chemical Corporation in the USA. He will succeed David Wilhoit who is retiring from the firm.

With a processing capacity of 50kt annually, the world’s first pet biorecycling plant will be developed by Carbios in France. Carbios’ enzymatic biorecycling technology will enable to produce Pet from its on waste rather than from oil.

Lyondell Basell will be establishing its integrated plastic waste recycling hub in Knapsack, Germany. The project is expected to be complete in phases and will combine various advanced sorting and recycling operations.

Under an agreement between BASF and International Process Plants (IPP), IPP will market ammonia, methanol and melamine plants which are located at BASF’s Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Wacker Biotech US, a subsidiary specializing in the fermentative production of plasmid DNA, is expanding its mRNA and protein production in San Diego, USA. The company is developing additional production capacities in the field of advanced therapy medicinal products to offer comprehensive solutions to the US market.

BP has simplified its organizational structure to reduce duplication and reporting line complexity. The company has also appointed William Lin and Emeka Emembolu to lead the gas & low carbon energy business and technology function respectively.

BASF has plans to expand its e-coat manufacturing facility in Mangalore, India. With this project, the company aims to manufacture the latest generation of e-coat products which offer lower consumption, increased efficiency, and higher reactivity for electric vehicles.

Shell Singapore has plans to sell its Energy and Chemicals Park in Singapore to CAPGC, a joint venture company between Chandra Asri Capital and Glencore Asian Holdings. The transaction is expected to complete by the end of 2024, subject to regulatory approval.
