Akzonobel has recently announced that all of its manufacturing locations in Latin America are now operating on 100 % renewable electricity. The move is in line with the company’s ambitions of slashing carbon emissions across its full value chain by 50 % by 2030.

With an annual production capacity of 5,000 tons, Arlanxeo has plans to develop a new hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber plant in Changzhou, China. The unit is expected to begin operations in the third quarter of 2025.

Air Liquide and Sasol have entered into new power purchase agreements with Enel Green Power RSA. Under the terms of the agreement, Enel Green Power RSA will supply an additional capacity of 110 MW of renewable power to Sasol’s Secunda site in South Africa.

Exxonmobil has successfully completed the first commercial sale of certified circular polymers by making use of its Exxtend technology for advanced recycling of plastic waste. Berry Global has purchased the circular polymers to manufacture containers for high-performance food-grade packaging on a mass balance approach.

Akzonobel has added five new powder coating lines to its production plant in Bac Ninh province near Hanoi in Vietnam. Another line for producing water-based products for the consumer electronics market has also been installed at the site.

With this mega investment, Akzonobel aims to install advanced technologies and increase the total manufacturing capacity at its four powder coatings sites in North America.
