Murray Auchincloss has been appointed as BP’s chief executive officer with immediate effect. The decision was undertaken by the firm’s board members. Auchincloss will also continue to be a member of the BP board. 

Under a black mass purchase agreement signed between both the parties, BASF and Stena Recycling will work together to develop improved black mass production processes in order to achieve high recovery rates for metals to support closed loop solutions for the European electric vehicle battery market.

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering has selected Mc Dermott for its Kasawari Carbon Capture and Storage project in East Malaysia. Under the scope of the contract, Mc Dermott will perform transportation and the structural installation of a 138-kilometer pipeline section, a 15,000 metric tonne CCS platform jacket, and bridge connecting to the existing central processing platform.

Lyondellbasell has plans to acquire a 35 % interest in Alujain’s Saudi Arabia–based National Petrochemical Industrial Company (Natpet) for 500 million dollars. With this, Lyondellbasell also aims to expand its core PP business.

Under a partnership frame agreement signed between both the parties, Metso has been selected as EV Metals’ Technical Partner for developing a Lithium Chemicals Plant in the Yanbu Industrial City, Saudi Arabia.

Solvay has plans to expand operations at its Resolest and Solval units which are dedicated to recycling residues from the flue gas cleaning process by using the Solvair solution. With this move, the company intends to enhance the circularity in flue gas treatment.

With the increasing demand for contract manufacturing services from global clients, Wuxi Biologics has plans to expand its production capacity at its Worcester facility in Massachusetts, USA. With this move, the unit will add 12,000 liters of commercial drug substance capacity to its existing capacity of 24,000 liters.

Reitan Retail, Norgesmøllene, Felleskjøpet Agri and Yara have partnered with each other to produce bread with a lower carbon footprint. Together, they aim at reducing emissions from Norwegian food production, from fertilizer production to finished food products.

Under a MOU signed between both the parties, Aker Carbon Capture and Man Energy Solutions will work together to accelerate CCUS and CO2 compression in the North American market. Under the terms of the agreement Man’s expertise in compressor technology and system integration, as well as Aker Carbon Capture’s amine technology and carbon capture products will be used for the venture.

Michelin, Ifpen and Axens have recently inaugurated what it claims to be the first industrial-scale demonstrator of a plant producing bio-based butadiene from bioethanol. The demonstrator is built at Michelin’s site in Bassens near Bordeaux in France.
