Piedmont Lithium has been awarded the final permit to develop the company’s proposed Tennessee Lithium project in Tennessee, USA. The 800-million-dollar project is expected to produce 30,000 metric ton per year of lithium hydroxide.

Under a MOU signed between BP and the Government of Mauritania, both the parties will explore the potential for large-scale production of green hydrogen in the country. BP will conduct numerous studies to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of producing green hydrogen in Mauritania.

Sumitomo Chemical and Ginkgo Bioworks have plans to expand their existing biomanufacturing partnership by developing functional chemicals with synthetic biology. For this project, Ginkgo Bioworks will utilize its strain design technology to develop a microbial strain and related fermentation process to produce the target molecule, while Sumitomo Chemical will develop the manufacturing process and its scale-up for commercialization.

SK Geo Centric (SKGC) and Purecycle Technologies have plans to develop the landmark project in Ulsan, South Korea. The facility is expected to have an annual capacity of 60,000 tons once complete and will help SKGC to supply a premium recycled plastic resin to the market.

Bunge and Chevron’s Renewable Energy Group have acquired the seed business Chacraservicios from the Adamant Group. The move is expected to add a new oil source in Bunge and Chevron’s global supply chains and will help both the firms to meet the growing demand for lower carbon renewable feedstocks.
