G20 leaders have taken the recommendations of the International Renewable Energy Agency to triple global renewable energy capacity by 2030 which is in line with the Paris Agreement. A joint report between Irena and India’s G20 Presidency, titled “Low-Cost Financing for Energy Transitions”, estimates a need for over 4 trillion dollars in annual investments by 2030.

With this deal, Ineos Phenol will add more than 1 million tonnes of production capacity annually to its existing chemical business. This includes cumene (410 ktpa), phenol (310 ktpa), acetone (185 ktpa), alpha-methylstyrene (20 ktpa) and bisphenol A (150 ktpa).
