A consortium including Neste, Brightlands Venture Partners, 4 Impact VC and Asahi Kasei have invested a total of 11-million-euros into Circularise, a start-up firm, to accelerate a circular economy for the polymers and chemicals industry.

At a soon to be held trade fair, Maag Group’s acquired French tool manufacturing firm AMN DPI will be showcasing a complete AMN Central Injection System (CIS) consisting of a 1500 mm diameter die plate with a central water injection and sword shaped knives.

With an increasing demand for sustainable polymers in the automotive industry, Solvay has decided to expand its polyphthalamide resin capacity by 15 % at its manufacturing site in Augusta, Georgia, USA. The company is also investing in new breakthrough PPA resins for e-mobility with this move.

The French start-up firm Ostium has partnered with Solvay to carry out mechanical recycling of single-use surgical instruments molded in glass-fiber reinforced Ixef polyacrylamide. The move aims to develop a circular ecosystem as well as reduce the carbon footprint of these instruments.

With the acquisition, Maag Pump Systems will form a new integrated Gear Pumps business unit which will be led by the Managing Director and former owner of Witte Pumps & Technology. The deal is expected to expand Maag’s product portfolio, enhance its technical and manufacturing capabilities and also extend its global footprint.

Nouryon’s Lumatreat tagged polymer products have been granted a US patent and the innovative solution assists customers to measure the available deposit-control agents in water treatment systems and reduce polymer and water usage during treatment.

Sabic has collaborated with confectionery major Mars and leading provider of environmental and chemical compliance services Landbell for flexible food packaging. Sabic’s certified circular polypropylene will be used to pack Mars’ Kind snack bar.

The Maag Group will exhibit numerous solutions at a soon-to-be-held Italian trade fair including a high-performance melt filter for the filtration of heavily contaminated polymer feedstock, an underwater pelletizing system designed for high throughputs of virgin polymer production, an innovation in strand pelletizing, and a stand-alone system to monitor pumps.

Under a MOU signed between both the parties, Lyondell Basell and Shakti Plastic Industries will develop a fully-automated, mechanical recycling plant in India which is expected to produce 50.000 tonnes of recycled polyethylene and polypropylene annually.
