Incitec Pivot and Fortescue Future Industries have collaborated to undertake a feasibility study for producing green hydrogen on an industrial-scale at the company’s existing Gibson Island fertilizer manufacturing facility in Australia. The new project aims to produce around 50,000 tons of renewable hydrogen annually which will then be converted into green ammonia for Australian and export markets.

Under an Agreement of Intent, Maire Tecnimont and Rosneft have agreed to build a new VGO (Vacuum Gas Oil) hydrocracking complex at Ryazan's refinery in Russia. The project is expected to convert heavy petroleum products into Class 5 light commercial petroleum product, thus increasing Ryazan’s refining margins.

BASF is all set to launch its digital solution ‘OASE digilab’ this year. The solution is aimed at further improving the efficiency of the gas treatment process by analyzing the composition of the gas treating agents in real time.

Under the terms of the agreement, Posco and BHP will jointly promote R&D in manufacturing high-strength cokes and utilizing biomass, enhancing the reporting systems for estimating GHG emissions across the entire supply chain, and developing carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies.

Ecolab has plans to takeover Purolite, a global manufacturer of high-end ion exchange resins for the separation and purification of solutions in biopharma and industrial sectors. The acquisition will strengthen the company’s life sciences business in order to develop better and more effective products for its customers as well as expand its capabilities in microelectronics, nuclear power and food and beverage industries.

Repsol has plans to invest 10.4 million dollars for the electrolyzer at the Petronor Refinery in Spain which will produce renewable hydrogen. Low and zero carbon footprint products will be manufactured by the firm with the use of this renewable hydrogen. The company aims to decarbonize its processes at all its industrial complexes.

HDF Energy has started the construction of the world’s first baseload renewable energy power plant using hydrogen technology – CEOG in French Guiana. The CEOG Renewstable power plant is expected to supply 100 % renewable, stable and dispatchable power to households without emitting any polluting emissions. Meridiam and Sara are the equity partners for the project.

With an annual production capacity of 450 thousand tons, the new polypropylene production plant will be built within the Ceyhan Industrial Zone in Ceyhan, Turkey. The 1.7-billion-dollar investment is claimed to be one of the private-sector’s largest industrial investments in the country and expected to triple the nation’s annual polypropylene production capacity.

Exxon Mobil has called for engineering, procurement and construction contract bids with an aim to capture up to 1 million metric tons of CO2 annually at its LaBarge, Wyoming facility in the USA. The proposed 400-million-dollar expansion project is expected to commence operations by 2025.

Under a MOU signed between Haldor Topsoe and Shchekinoazot, both the companies will work together to reduce the carbon footprint of Shchekinoazot’s existing and future plants in the Tula region, Russia.
