Researchers from the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, Ruhr University Bochum and Evonik Oxeno have developed a novel catalyst system that enables the use of the climate gas carbon dioxide as a raw material for the chemical industry.

Solvay has inaugurated its new bio-circular silica facility at its plant in Livorno, Italy. The new unit will produce highly dispersible silica using bio-based sodium silicate derived from rice husk ash, an agricultural byproduct.

Japanese energy company Eneos has partnered with Honeywell to begin basic engineering for what is set to be the first commercial-scale hydrogen supply chain in Japan based on MCH (methylcyclohexane). The project aims to facilitate hydrogen transport using Honeywell UOP’s dehydrogenation process, supporting production, storage, distribution, and material recycling within Eneos refineries.

Under a Heads of Agreement signed between HIF Global and German e-fuel One, HIF will supply 100,000 tons of e-methanol annually from its Paysandú project in Uruguay to German e-fuel One.

Spray Engineering Devices has awarded a contract to Lanzatech for developing a next generation ethanol facility using sugarcane bagasse. Expected to process up to 300 tons per day of bagasse, the facility will be established in Uttar Pradesh, India, and is a key component of the "SED Smart Village" concept.
