The mega plant aims to replace fossil hydrogen with renewable hydrogen in order to produce ammonia. It has the potential to reduce 100,000 tonnes of CO2 every year and is expected to be operational by 2024/25 subject to public co-funding and regulatory frameworks.

The 50-50 joint venture company – Anaven has received environmental clearance to produce 32,000 metric tonnes of monochloroacetic acid (MCA) annually at its new plant in Gujarat, India. The first batch of MCA is expected to be supplied to the Indian market by the end of 2020.

The mega low-emission facility will be constructed at Repsol’s Cartagena refinery in Spain and is expected to supply 250,000 tonnes of advanced biofuels annually to aircrafts, trucks, and cars. The project is in line with the firm’s ambitions of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

The consortium – the Zero Carbon Humber Partnership includes 12 companies and organisations which have recently submitted a joint proposal to develop a net zero industrial cluster in the Humber, the UK’s largest and most carbon-intensive industrial region. The breakthrough project is expected to be completed by 2040.

Sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), the new pilot plant will make use of carbon dioxide and hydrogen to produce sustainable chemicals. BMBF is investing 7 million dollars for various stages of the project.

ABB, Hydrogen Optimized have signed a MOU and under the terms of the agreement, both the companies will explore the development of large-scale green hydrogen production systems. The partnership aims to make green hydrogen an affordable source of energy for diverse industries.

Euro Chlor’s ‘Mid-Century Strategy’ showcases its green ambitions towards the European chlor-alkali industry. Under this strategy, the association will focus on energy efficiency, reducing carbon footprint, increasing circularity in downstream chlorine value chain, and striving for 100 % hydrogen utilisation by 2050.

Under the MOU signed between BASF New Business (BNB) and the South Korean based firm G-Philos, BNB will supply Nas batteries to G-Philos till 2022 as well as support the firm in the development of the Power Conversion Systems business for Nas batteries.

The new Air Separation Unit (ASU) is expected to have an oxygen production capacity of more than 2,000 tonnes per day and will be built in China’s Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone. The plant will enable Air Liquide to strengthen its position in the industrial basin.

The large-scale sustainable project aims to create a hydrogen and sustainable fuel unit founded on the concept of electrolysis. Expected to be complete in three stages, the electrolysis plant once completed will offer a capacity of 1.3 GW.
