Clariant has signed two key agreements with Sinopec in Beijing. In the first agreement, Sinopec licenses its FCAS series of S-Zorb sorbent to Clariant. The second agreement is the FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) Agency Agreement between Sinopec Catalyst Company (SCC) and Clariant Qatar W.L.L. stating that Clariant Qatar W.L.L. will be the representative for Sinopec’s FCC catalysts to oil refineries in Qatar.

Air Products announced an agreement to acquire Shell’s Coal Gasification Technology business as well as the patent portfolio for Liquids (Residue) Gasification.

The plant is the company’s maiden automotive coatings manufacturing facility in ASEAN. The project has been set up to meet the growing market demand in the region.

Anellotech announced the completion of the commissioning of its T-Cat-8 pilot plant, and the commencement of the critical development and testing program. The unit is designed to demonstrate the Bio-T-Cat (thermal catalytic biomass conversion) process in a fluid bed reactor with internal process recycle streams and continuous catalyst regeneration.

Dupont Performance Polymers has increased production capacity of Dupont Zytel PA 66 and PA 6 at its Uentrop facility in Hamm, Germany by 20 percent to meet growing demand primarily in the global automotive industry.

Production capacity for bio–based polymers will triple from 5.1 million tons in 2013 to 17 million tons in 2020, representing a two percent share of polymer production in 2013 and four percent in 2020.
