Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption is steadily gaining momentum across industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, and chemicals. Within this broad field of AI, specialized solutions such as Generative AI (Gen AI), Computer Vision, Edge AI and Agentic AI are emerging as powerful tools. Gen AI is a type of AI technology that produces new and original content by identifying different patterns and structures in an existing data set whereas, Computer Vision is a subset of AI which enables machines to interpret and analyze visual data from images and videos.

Edge AI on the other hand is a technology that basically deploys AI algorithms directly on local edge devices, such as Internet of Things (IoT) sensors and cameras instead of remote cloud servers. Edge AI is a merger of AI and Edge Computing, a decentralized IT framework that leverages local computing, storage, networking, and security to process data closer to its source. This pairing enhances speed, efficiency, and reliability in industrial operations. Lastly, Agentic AI is an advanced form of artificial intelligence which is designed to operate with autonomy, and minimal human oversight. The technology makes use of large language models and specialized AI agents that mimic human decision-making to solve problems in real time.
