Plug Power will be delivering a 1 GW electrolyzer to H2 Energy Europe for a green hydrogen production complex in Denmark which is expected to produce up to 100,000 metric tons of green hydrogen annually to power the region’s transportation sector.

PTTGC America (GCA) and the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio have entered into a MOU to develop and operate a new recycling complex in Swaco’s green economy business park in Ohio, USA. The complex, which includes the construction of a new plant, is expected to manufacture recycled polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate into products.

Air Liquide and Siemens have formed a joint venture (JV) to produce large-scale renewable hydrogen electrolyzers in Europe. In the new JV, Air Liquide will hold a 25.1 % stake while the remaining stake of 74.9 % will be held by Siemens Energy.

The new facility is expected to initially convert up to one million tons of municipal solid waste annually, later it can be expanded up to four million tons of waste, to produce 67,000 tons of green hydrogen and one million tons of CO₂.

Tata Chemicals Europe has launched the first industrial scale carbon capture and usage plant in the UK. The plant is expected to capture 40,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually. Also, CO2 captured from energy generation emissions is being purified to food and pharmaceutical grade which will then be used as a raw material to produce sodium bicarbonate.

BASF’s new acetylene plant can produce 90,000 ton of the versatile chemical annually. A byproduct of the process is what is known as acetylene coke. To prevent the coke from clogging the combustion chamber, it is removed by so-called poking robots, specially developed in-house by BASF.

BP has entered into strategic partnerships with Adnoc and Masdar for its blue hydrogen project, H2Teesside as well as its green hydrogen project, Hygreen Teesside respectively in the UK. Under the contracts, the Gulf firms will acquire stake in both the projects with an aim to develop low carbon hydrogen hubs in the country.
