BASF Coatings has increased its production capacity for polyester and polyurethane resin at its Caojing plant in Shanghai, China with an aim to meet the growing demand for automotives in the Asia Pacific region.

BASF starts up its first commercial loopamid plant for recycled polyamide 6 at the Caojing site in Shanghai, China. loopamid is capable of transforming textile waste into a valuable resource, helps save raw materials and closes the textile loop. The unit will have an annual capacity of 500 metric tons.

Qore, a joint venture firm of Cargill and Helm, has recently announced that it has successfully completed the development of a 300-million-dollar facility in Iowa, USA and is all set to start production of Qira, the world’s first large-scale 1,4-butanediol made from locally grown dent corn, at the plant.
