Thyssen Krupp has been awarded a contract to perform a feasibility study for a new green hydrogen project by the Australian hydrogen infrastructure company Hydrogen Utility (H2U). As part of the project, a 30 MW water electrolysis plant as well as a facility for sustainable ammonia production are planned to be constructed near Port Lincoln in South Australia.
Under the contract, Samsung Engineering will construct a polyolefins project in Vietnam for Long Son Petrochemicals. The engineering firm will also deliver a High-density polyethylene plant with a 450 KTPA capacity along with a PP plant with a capacity of 400 KTPA for the project.
Claimed to be the biggest investment by the company, the new project will be the maiden cracker project to be built in Europe since the past two decades. The project is expected to bring US shale gas to Europe and ensure a steady future for European chemical plants.
