Yokohama/Japan — The engineering contract was the first order received by FMH and was completed within seven months. The contract involved modifications and additions to the power plant including electrostatic precipitator (ESP), flue gas desulfurization (FGD) and gas gas heaters (GGH) at Unit 8 (1 gigawatt) of the Huadian Zouxian Power Plant in Shandong Province. The modernised unit will reduce the SO2 (sulfur dioxide) and dust content in the boiler exhaust gas. Prior to the start of operations, the system completed 168 hours of continuous trial runs, as required by Chinese regulations. By raising the desulfurization rate to 98.8 % and reducing the stack inlet dust concentration to about one-fifth of the previous level, the latest Chinese environmental regulatory requirements have been met.

FMH is a 50/50 joint venture company between MHPS and Zhejiang Feida Environmental Science & Technology, a supplier of electrostatic precipitator in China, and began operations in March 2015. China Huadian Corporation is one of China's five largest electricity companies.
